ABSTRACT

Starting from the anniversary of the publication of the “Legge delle Guarentigie” (May 13, 1871), the figure of the Italian jurist and politician Terenzio Mamiani della Rovere is examined. He distinguished himself for the attempt to reconcile the Catholic Church with the State in the framework of the separatism supported by Camillo Benso di Cavour.
