The protection of the rights of the so-called Euro-Muslim women is a touchstone for the European legal identity, which on fundamental rights’ protection is grounded. On the one side, indeed, the freedom of religion has been limited according to the rules on the use of religious symbols. On the other side, protecting gender equality and individual dignity against the honor crimes that seems to characterize Muslim communities proved hard.

This essay analyzes these topics in a comparative perspective, behaving necessary to find a way for protecting Euro-Muslim women rights, both respecting their religious belonging and the European democratic tradition.
