Abstract
The essay explores the theme of the simplification of the process of dissolution of civil marriage and cessation of the civil effects of canonical marriage, achieved with Law 55/2015, reflecting on the relationship between canon law and civil law with particular reference to the repurchase of the status libertatis necessary for the transcript of any subsequent canonical marriage.
