Abstract
The contribution investigates the change in attitude of the Catholic Church against the mafia phenomenon compared to the recent past. The main turning point was represented by the use of canon law as a tool for preventing and contrasting mafia dynamics, as demonstrated by the issuing of specific canon law norms in the Dioceses of Southern Italy.
