Nr. 1/2023AIDA FAHRAT «Do we need Ibn Rushd?». Reflections starting from the book of Ibrahim Bourchachen
The events relating to the history of an ancient Italo-Greek cenobitic complex in the Calabrian Diocese of Rossano-Cariati, a paradigmatic model of intercultural and inter-religious relations, offer the cue to pick up on Pope Francis’ magisterium’s recurring reference to the many civilizations that originate from the Mediterranean, proving that the Mare Nostrum has the potential to once again become a meeting place for an enriching and reciprocal confrontation between the most diverse identities, rather than a place of massacre for migrants.
