ABSTRACT
A legal reflection on the relationship between food and religion requires the delimitation of its field of analysis, falling within the broader thematic scope of the right to food and the protection of religious freedom. The A. analyses, without any pretense of exhaustiveness, but with the aim of providing further elements of reasoning, food pluralism in the light of the recognition and protection of the right to food and religious freedom, identifying the close relationship between food and religion and the peculiarities of religious dietary laws, in order to specify the role of food requirements in religious practices and to mention those problematic issues that arise when confronted with the protection of food diversity in the management of certain structures in the current public space.
