Abstract

The work, starting from the cult of the waters present in the different traditions, underlines the religious symbolism that water assumes in rituality, as a specific aspect of its wider relationship with the sphere of the sacred, with particular regard to the differentiation between the purifying and the regenerative one found in the cultic act of ablution, immersion and sprinkling.
