Abstract
The contribution - following three specific perspectives of inquiry: neutrality understood as aconfessionality and separation of law and religion, individual freedom of conscience, and the principle of non - discrimination based on both religious and other beliefs - analyses the legal dimension of religion in the pronouncements of the French Civil Cassation regarding the dialectic between the right of religious freedom, the right of equality, and secularism.
