ABSTRACT
This paper aims to show the reform of vatican judicial system launched by vatican law n. CCCLI (march 16, 2020). A particular attention is given to the legal provisions related to judges, and innovations introduced compared to the past. The essay focuses on the new legal provisions with special regard to some absolute guarantees (such as judges’ indipendence and professionalism, and previously legally established judge) required by the principle of fair trial.
